
Penny Wise and Pound Foolish
Penny wise and pound foolish. This old expression came to my mind recently. Two different companies had approached remington to help them with financing. Both of them decided that we were too expensive and did not hire us. Both of these companies have now filed for bankruptcy. I believe that both of these companies could have avoided filing had they hired us. For a very small fee we could have put them on the right track.
Distressed Property Recapitalization
I expect that we are going to begin to see more and more owners of income producing real estate having to deal with paying off their mortgage loans as they reach the date when the balloon payment is due. In most cases the balances will be higher than the value of the property. With our distressed property recapitalization program available to these owners we are well positioned to guide them through a successful negotioation with their lender.
Remington and Mexico
We are excited to be developing an expanded business plan to increase our business in mexico. Our entire department will be bilingual. Our capital markets group has greatly increased the number of capital sources who are anxious to finance transactions in mexico.

International Capital Sources
In an effort to expand our data base of international capital sources our capital markets group has hired a summer intern from the thunderbird school of international business. Her efforts will be dedicated to developing additional international capital sources.
We are looking to associate with either existing businesses or start up companies that would like to refer clients to our company. These clients would be seeking financing. We would provide a full range of services to our referral partners which would include but not be limited to our industry leading access to capital sources. What is Distressed Real Estate?
We keep seeing the term distressed real estate more and more in the press and on the business news. I am sometimes asked what does that mean. Maybe the easiest explanation would be that the value of the subject property has fallen to a number which is lower than the unpaid balance on the mortgage. Remington has the ability to help both owners and lenders to optimize their options when these circumstances occur.
Acquisition Fund
We are excited about a new fund that our capital markets group is putting together. This fund will be for the acquisition of real estate in Australia and japan. The economic times have created many outstanding opportunities in these countries. We hope to launch the fund shortly.
