What is Distressed Real Estate?

We keep seeing the term distressed real estate more and more in the press and on the business news. I am sometimes asked what does that mean. Maybe the easiest explanation would be that the value of the subject property has fallen to a number which is lower than the unpaid balance on the mortgage. We offer financing for both owners and buyers of distressed assets. Our program covers all levels of the capital stack and is very interested in pursuing this type of financing at this time.
